Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps Man with Van Wennington has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our operations or supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing effective systems and controls to safeguard people affected by our activities.

Modern slavery is a crime and a serious violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, including slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty for personal or commercial gain. Man with Van Wennington maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery.

Our Business and Supply Chains

Man with Van Wennington provides transport and moving services to individual and commercial customers. Our operations involve vehicle use, manual handling, and logistical support, and we engage suppliers for vehicles, equipment, fuel, uniforms, and occasional subcontracted labour. We recognise that elements of the transport and logistics sector can be vulnerable to labour exploitation, and we are committed to managing these risks responsibly.

Our supply chains include UK-based suppliers and service providers who support our day-to-day operations. We expect all suppliers, contractors, and business partners to uphold the same high standards that we set for ourselves.

Zero-Tolerance Policy

Man with Van Wennington operates a clear and explicit zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. We do not tolerate forced labour, child labour, debt bondage, or any form of exploitation in our business or supply chains. This policy applies to all employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers engaged by us.

We communicate this stance through our contractual arrangements and supplier expectations, making it clear that any evidence of involvement in modern slavery will result in appropriate action, which may include termination of contracts, reporting to relevant authorities, and the refusal to engage in future business.

Due Diligence and Supplier Audits

We conduct proportionate due diligence on our suppliers and, where applicable, on subcontractors. This includes assessing the nature of the work provided, the use of temporary or migrant labour, and the geographic location of services. Our aim is to identify areas of higher risk so that additional checks and monitoring can be applied.

Supplier audits may be carried out periodically to verify compliance with our ethical standards. These audits may involve reviewing relevant company policies, worker contracts, working conditions, and right-to-work documentation. Where concerns are identified, we will work with the supplier to develop corrective actions within clear timescales. Persistent non-compliance or refusal to cooperate with audits may lead to the suspension or cessation of the business relationship.

Reporting Channels and Protection

We encourage anyone working for or with Man with Van Wennington to raise concerns about possible modern slavery or unethical practices. Concerns may be reported to management or through any internal reporting mechanism we make available. Reports can be made in confidence, and we will take all concerns seriously, investigate them promptly, and, where appropriate, escalate matters to relevant external authorities.

No worker or supplier will face retaliation or detrimental treatment for raising a concern in good faith. We are committed to protecting whistleblowers and ensuring that issues can be reported without fear. Where modern slavery is suspected or identified, we will prioritise the safety and wellbeing of affected individuals and cooperate fully with law enforcement and support organisations as appropriate.

Training and Awareness

We seek to raise awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff, particularly those involved in recruitment, supplier management, and site or job supervision. Training and guidance focus on recognising indicators of exploitation, understanding reporting routes, and appreciating our legal and ethical responsibilities.

We expect managers and supervisors to lead by example, promoting a culture where respect for people and human rights is integral to everyday decision-making and operational practices.

Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement

Man with Van Wennington is committed to continuous improvement in our approach to preventing modern slavery. We will review this Modern Slavery Statement at least annually to reflect any changes in our operations, supply chains, or applicable legislation, and to incorporate lessons learned from audits, investigations, and stakeholder feedback.

The annual review will consider the effectiveness of our due diligence processes, the outcomes of supplier audits, any reported concerns or incidents, and opportunities to strengthen our controls and training. Updated versions of this Statement will be approved by senior management and communicated internally and externally as appropriate.

This Statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Wennington and represents our ongoing commitment to upholding human rights and eliminating modern slavery in all its forms within our business and supply chains.
